TRUST & ESTATE ADMINISTRATION- We assist after the loss of a loved one with the process of Probate and Estate and Trust Administration, usually for a flat fee.

BUSINESS LAW- From business formation to succession planning, and everything in between, we help your business plan for success

ELDER LAW- We help you plan for the long-term care and legal needs for senior adults and navigate through the hurdles of Medicaid qualification

Our philosophy…

We believe that the practice of law has fundamentally changed and that a new type of firm is necessary to best serve clients. It is our model to provide optimal and personalized legal services to our clients in an affordable manner. By keeping our overhead low and eliminating the need to pay a lot of people that are not working on a client’s matter, we are able to offer many services for flat (fixed) fees and to offer other alternative billing arrangements. Not only that, but having no mandated billable hours means we can gladly travel to our client’s business or home if that is the best way to serve their needs.

Our idea…

We actually make house-calls! That’s right–if it helps you to have us come to you in your home, office, hospital room or care facility, or even if you just prefer it, we are happy to do so at NO extra charge. Just ask.

Our Innovative Fee Model

And we will do this for a price you will generally know in advance–a flat fee. Because you are not buying our time, or wanting to pay us to sit around and ‘be smart’ and ‘look good’. You want a solution to a problem, and a plan going forward. So that is what we offer.

About Richard B. Sorrell

Rick did not set out in life to be a lawyer. He worked in radio for several years (and when that did not pay the bills in various other jobs) before returning to college and graduating with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Rick went on to receive an MA from a Seminary located in North Carolina, and worked in various church and para-church ministries. It was not until the arrival of the Sorrell’s third child that Rick decided to go to law school. Rick attended the Indiana University School of Law (Bloomington), and graduated with a JD. While in law school, Rick spent 2 years working for United States Congressman Mike Sodrel. Rick attended functions with the Congressman, served as a policy analyst, drafted position statements, and answered the concerns and needs of the residents of the district.

Rick began the Sorrell Law Firm with the mission of providing quality legal services at an affordable price. He seeks to offer his clients affordable and practical solutions tailored to their particular needs. And to focus upon what is best for his clients, not what serves the interests of the firm.
